Breed Introduction
The Japanese Spitz is also known as the Japanese Fox Dog. The name Japanese Silver Fox comes from the word ‘Spitz’, which means ‘pointed’ in German, representing the pointed snout and ears of this dog, resembling a fox.
The Japanese Silver Fox was developed from the white-coated fox dog of Germany and Japanese dogs, officially recognized in 1952, and gradually became popular.
The Japanese Silver Fox has a quick reaction ability, a strong physique, is loyal to its owner, and has a strong sense of vigilance, not easily tempted, and enjoys barking. It was once used for guarding homes, and now this small breed serves as a family pet.
